The Marine Geodesy corporate group conducts essential survey work in oceans and seas for the planning, construction, and monitoring of offshore facilities. The company develops, sells, and implements complex solutions and technologies for marine engineering surveys and dredging. The Marine Geodesy team is renowned for their readiness to tackle challenging projects, often in remote and difficult-to-reach locations.
Our task was to refresh the group’s visual identity while retaining elements of their established brand style and to create a user-friendly website that embodies the company’s values.
Marine Geodesy embodies the allure of maritime operations, advanced technology, and the hard work of people at sea. Our concept reflects the synergy between nature, technology, and people.
The company’s visual identity centers around a key generative image that combines technological precision with the fluidity of natural elements. The foundation of this generative image is a dot grid, reminiscent of the interface of navigational tools.
To enhance the maritime theme, we incorporated real sounds of the sea, storms, and sonar into the visuals. We used numerical parameters from sound frequencies to generate three visual types: waves, storms, and depth maps. The sonar devices emit sound waves to detect underwater objects, further reinforcing the connection between technology and nature.
The new logo is a visual nod to the previous design. We retained the triangle shape and anchor, simplifying the logo by reducing details and removing the gradient to enhance legibility.
The logo consists of both text and a graphic element, which can also be used independently. The text element incorporates modern, stylish lettering.
We began by analyzing the company’s competitors across two key areas: maritime engineering surveying and maritime geodetic equipment sales. This research included a review of industry standards and the strategies of both domestic and international competitors.
The next step involved collaborating with the client to outline the main sections of the website and finalize their structure. For this purpose, we developed the website layout in Miro.
We then designed the website pages, drawing on our industry knowledge, user journey insights, and recommendations from SEO experts. A generative video serves as the main visual identifier on the website, acting as an interactive tool to engage users. When users hover over the caption «Hear the elements,» they hear the sound of the sea, which stops once the cursor is removed. An animated icon next to the caption guides users to instinctively understand what to expect.
This project was more than just a redesign—we completely rebuilt the website’s structure and content, expanding its functionality by adding sections for equipment and fleet.
For ease of use, the company projects page offers two viewing modes: users can view Marine Geodesy projects as cards or search for projects on a map to focus on specific regions of interest.
We embedded a customized file weight compressor and image size optimization into the file system to ensure that all audio, video and static content can be quickly loaded. As a result, images load 20% faster and occupy up to 50% less space on the server hard drive.
We managed the content through CMS 1C-Bitrix with an addition of unique fields and modules for features such as interactive maps.
Generative graphics were also applied to print and presentation designs. The use of varied generative textures adds dynamism and versatility to the company’s brand assets, including business cards, slides, presentations, workwear, and stationery.
We developed a brand style and launched a website that engages users with the company’s work, reflecting its core values and principles. The website allows users to easily find information, request survey work, or rent and purchase equipment.
