Represocial is a startup from Germany that approached us with a product idea and a design concept. The service helps create and run giveaways, while also saving the results and statistics. For example, it can generate a participation form and select a winner.
Our task was to refine the design, execute it while keeping the business process and expected outcomes in mind, and launch it online in five languages.
Organizing giveaway competitions on social media can be challenging. Contest information often gets lost in the background, making it difficult to create links, track conversions, and manage entry forms, which are often stored in Google Forms. Additionally, the giveaway post itself can quickly transform into a cluttered wall of text with emojis, making it easy to overlook important details, such as age or region restrictions.
It’s always better to start any product with an MVP to test hypotheses and gauge audience reaction. Together with the client, we identified a set of features for all types of users that would be sufficient for the launch.
We mapped out the logic of the service in Miro and identified three scenarios for organizing giveaways:
We also defined two options for determining participants:
This data formed the foundation of the new design and the platform’s functionality. We refined the UX/UI and improved the initial design, ensuring the service’s logic remained intact. The admin panel is now suitable for content management and moderation, enabling the client to use the service independently without needing developer assistance.
We set up a cloud server and hosting through the DigitalOcean provider. Monetization was implemented with banner spots for Google AdWords.
Additionally, we created an image processing solution that removes metadata from files uploaded by users and compresses them to save server space and improve page loading speed. The solution, built from multiple connected libraries, is universal and supports image formats from any device.
The service has been launched to one of the audience segments, and the client plans to promote it further. There are numerous ideas for its development, refinement, and monetization.
